This is my journey to FEMSPORT August 25, 2012 and Las Vegas, Mr. Olympia, September 27, 2012(getting married)…I am going to be blogging every high and low of my prep for my mighty trip to Canada. This blog will include my diet, training, supplementation, progress pictures/measurements (some times) as well as all the random thoughts that will be going through my head through this exciting yet, EXHAUSTING process! I have a long way to go…and I will take you ALL with me on this crazy Journey!!!
OK.. so as a lot of you know.. I have been talking about competing in FemSport for like a YEAR now… life got in the way… MOVED FROM DC TO FLORIDA.. during the time of the competition.. no time,.. no money.. and WAAAY to much stress! I started doing some training videos… see below… as to some of my workouts to prepare myself for this competition. I am sure I will make some more… stay tuned!
If you are not sure what FemSport is… the way I describe it to most people is “sort of like a strong man competition for chics…with ANAROBIC cardio mixed in”….who really signs up for some Sh*t like this? Yeah.. me I guess. Women wanting to challenge themselves…to compete against themselves and not anyone else…. FemSport moto..”Training to BECOME YOUR OWN CHAMPION”.
I first just have to say I HATE BOX JUMPS. Who came up with this stupid exercise?? Clearly a man only weighing 150lbs!!
I still am lifting heavy, except my legs I did change up the way I am lifting legs.. as most of you know…I have legs like oak trees, and I really want them to lean out more, so out with the heavy and in with the lighter weight, high reps….BORING… but I feel like I also need to work on my muscle endurance, as I can hardly hold the hair dryer to blow my hair dry with out my arms getting tired. So after an hour of lifting I start my FemSport training. It usually consists of some sort of metcon crazy circuit. For instance, 4-5 rounds, jump rope for 2 min, 50 walking lunges, 50 air squats, 50 walking lunges 50 air squats, bicep hammer curls (100 with 17.5lb dumbbells) shoulder presses (up and outs I call them) 16lb medicine ball, inverted rows (a FemSport Event) these suck too by the way. Each time I train I change up the exercises or the duration of each. Some times I do it for time, each exercise is 3 minutes, or I do reps, each exercise 100 reps, again trying to build up my muscle and cardio endurance. This is really when I feel like I am out of shape. I have a long way to go, but making progress. I suffer from a heel spur on my left foot… and it SUCKS…but I just bare through the pain.
Diet is in full effect. 6 meals per day and 1 cheat meal each week. This is usually the hardest part for me, is getting in all my meals. It just takes planning ahead of time…in all my free time. I have about 30-40lbs I want to lose. So be prepared for some blog DOOZIES!!! I will keep them as clean and rated “G-PG” as possible.
